Friday Ship #408 | August 16th, 2024

Ropes braided together

This week, we made significant strides toward enhancing our Mattermost integration by collaborating closely with DoD Platform One and the Mattermost plugin integration team.

We find it invaluable when customers engage us in exploring use cases and designs, providing insights into what might truly serve their needs. Meanwhile, the Mattermost team has been an excellent partner, offering guidance on both UX and technical aspects.

This collaboration has reinforced our confidence in delivering a best-in-class solution that harnesses the combined strengths of Parabol and Mattermost for teams in both public and private sectors. It’s part of our ongoing efforts with software like Mattermost and GitLab to create seamless workflows that help teams deliver their best work.

The key takeaway is that delivering an excellent product often requires looking beyond your immediate team and collaborating across organizations. When popular tools integrate effectively, everyone benefits—especially the end customer. Building relationships across organizations, including with customers, is a time investment that pays off in long-term service and growth. We look forward to continuing down this path with our partners.

Parabol Metrics for Aug 16, 2024

While in general we’ve enjoyed seeing a stronger summer than we typically see, we have been seeing some late summer slowdown assuming people are finally taking some time off work.

This week we…

continued to migrate away from RethinkDB. We’ve been making steady progress against this milestone. This investment will allow us to better serve a variety of private environments and more easily maintain and enhance our codebase.

reviewed designs for a trade booth. We look forward to attending a trade show in Hawaii in October and talking with potential customers. Seeing trade booth designs come to life has been energizing. We’ve had the privilege of working with one of our former teammates on this project.

wrapped up Shape-Up cycle 6. For the next couple of weeks we’ll take some time to work on various bugs and small projects as we reviews bets for what we focus on in the next cycle. One thing we are planning for is beginning implementation of initial experiences for Team Insights.

congratulated a teammate on the arrival of their baby. We like to take time to celebrate when our teammates celebrate. Everyone seems happy and healthy! We’re wishing them the best for this new chapter.

Next week we’ll…

meet up for a Growth Team retreat in Minneapolis. The Growth Team will be looking at how to better serve our customers so that they get the most out of Parabol.
